Shortly after starting out on the Alaska Hwy, we detoured off to drive a portion of the original road cut in 1942 by the Army. This wooden bridge is the only one still standing and naturally we had to drive across.
Over the next three days we drove further into the north and away from everything else.
We passed back over the Northern Rockies and followed a variety of rivers for miles.
This is Muncho Lake and is one of the most beautiful we have seen anywhere.
We camped on the shore of this river for one night. No services but who cares.
We took a dip in the Laird Hot Springs which sits in the middle of nowhere just off the highway. Very hot and very relaxing with temps of 105 to 125.
We have now made it to the Yukon and are stopped at Watson Lake. Stay tuned.
