Hello from Serpent River, Ontario, Canada

After dropping Brother Richard off in Adrian, MI, we spent a couple of days visiting with the fam, we then headed to Canada.  We crossed at Port Huron just north of Detroit and are headed around the north shore of the great lakes.  The leaves are turning bright with color and reflect the national symbol of Canada, the red maple leaf.

This area is called the "Land of 30,000 Islands" and is truely beautiful.  We can't help imaging what this place will be like in a month when it is frozen solid.

For now, it is perfect weather for us to get out for some short hikes......

.....and some long relaxing hours by lakes and rivers.

We are going to continue to follow the Trans-Canada Hwy west until we get home or the weather forces us south.

Brother Richard at Mt Rushmore and Badlands

On the way to the Black Hills of South Dakota we stopped by one of our favorite parks, Devils Tower National Moument in eastern Wyoming.  Dick and Millie got to stand at the bottom of the 1200 plus foot rock formation and tried to figure out a way to climb it with a stiff neck and a bad leg.  Maybe next time.

Not far away from Devils Tower is Mt Rushmore.  Once again it was great to visit this very popular park with only a handful of other visitors.

Heading east from the Black Hills we took a quick side trip through the Badlands National Park.  Very handy loop drive that heads parallel to our route east.  Amazing formations and beautiful colors.
